Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterMy doctor told me I had hyponatremia. In plain English, I was very low on sodium in my blood, which made me weak, nauseous, and confused. The worst thing was I lost my confidence—afraid to do anything. All that changed when I was admitted to Glens Falls Center. The staff was so comforting and helpful, not only making me stronger but easing my fears as well. I’m back home, and I’ve got sodium in my blood, strength in my muscles, and love in my heart for the entire Glens Falls Center team.
Alberta Greeno
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterWhen I arrived at Glens Falls Center, I was confused and had significant pain in my legs. The pain was so overwhelming, I couldn’t even stand up. Walking has always been my favorite thing to do, especially on warm, sunny days. Glens Falls Center helped me right my way. The staff was so nice, I can’t remember a time I was treated so well by strangers. The therapy team was top notch and my room was immaculate. I worked hard in Physical and Occupational Therapy, and at times I felt like giving up! But the staff at the facility knew exactly what to say to motivate my recovery. Two weeks later and I’ve improved significantly. Now I can walk on those sunny days once more! I would strongly recommend this facility to anyone looking for a place to get great rehab and get stronger!
Angela Teague
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was in pain, serious debilitating pain. I couldn’t sleep, I was always tired, and had no appetite. I just couldn’t think straight. And it was all caused by my deep depression. But things started to look up as soon as I was admitted to Glens Falls Center. I didn’t want to do anything, but thanks to the rehab team, which was so positive, supportive, and encouraging, I started a regular course of physical therapy. But they also helped me emotionally as well. Physically, mentally and emotionally, I started feeling stronger and more confident. I returned home after three and a half months of good, hard work. I haven’t felt this healthy in a long time. The Glens Falls Center team made a world of difference in my life! I was in pain, serious debilitating pain. Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterCellulitis is a terrible thing. My legs were swollen and I was very weak with a fever. I took antibiotics for the infection, but I was totally dependent, needing help to bathe, dress, and more. But as terrible as the infection was, that’s just how wonderful the team is at Glens Falls Center. The therapists are awesome. They were patient and professional, easing me into a program that slowly but surely made me stronger. It took three months, but I’m back home and able to do things like dressing on my own again. I have nothing but gratitude for my Glens Falls Center family.
Arvilla Fuller
Former Patient at Glens Fall CenterI took a bad fall and fractured my left hip. I had surgery to put a metal rod in the hip, but when I was discharged, I couldn’t put any weight on my leg. I needed help with bathing, dressing—just about everything. I got that help—and a lot more—at Glens Falls Center. The entire staff was wonderful. The aides on my unit went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed. And my therapists—both physical and occupational—were great! It took three months of hard work, but every minute was worth it. Thanks to the Glens Falls Center team, I’m back home and able to walk with the help of a walker. All I can say is: If you need rehab, go to Glens Falls Center!
Barbara Law
Former Patient at Glens Fall CenterI have a form of cancer, and it had gotten to the point where I could barely function—I needed help to get out of bed, bathe, even just to get dressed. But the real help came when I checked into Glens Falls Center. The team there is so friendly; they welcomed me with open arms. The therapy sessions made me feel better and stronger each day. And I loved the activities—especially the live music. After two months of hard work—and live music—I was strong enough to be on my own again. I would recommend Glens Falls Center to anyone in need of rehab. A big thank you to the entire team!
Christopher Kimball
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a fall and I was scared. I couldn’t walk and I didn’t know what my life would be like in the future. Would I ever get back on my feet and walking again? Glens Falls Center gave me my confidence back. The staff did everything they could to make sure I was comfortable. The therapy was great, in fact, I always looked forward to my sessions. They also had entertainment—live music The Glens Falls Center team have all become like a second family to me. I am going home with a repaired leg, but a broken heart: I am going to miss everyone here. But I know that if I need it in the future, Glens Falls Center will be my #1 choice.
Cindy Fisher
Former Patients at Glens Falls CenterI needed an arthroplasty to repair my left knee. When I left the hospital, I couldn’t bathe or get out of bed without help. I wanted to go home, but had to rehab first. Glens Falls Center was a godsend. The entire staff was fantastic—friendly, welcoming and professional. When I got there, I could hardly walk. In less than two weeks, I was going up and down stairs on my own. I highly recommend Glens Falls Center to anyone needing rehab. I value my independence, and they gave it back to me!
Coral Bowe
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI have osteoarthritis in my knee, and it got to the point where the pain and fatigue were too much. I lost confidence in myself, and my doctor recommended I go to Glens Falls Center to rehab. The staff was wonderful—very attentive and prompt. I was so impressed when I arrived: It was late in the afternoon, but they immediately brought me lunch. The food was good with great selections. My room and my roommate were both nice. The therapy made all the difference in the world. They built up my confidence, my strength improved, and I’m back on my feet! Thank you so much Glens Falls Center!
David Huff
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a fall and had a fracture in my neck. I was in excruciating pain. Not only did I lose functionality, the fracture hindered my ability to do basic tasks like bathing and going to the bathroom. I was lost and in desperate need of assistance. When I arrived at Glens Falls Center for rehab, I knew I had found relief. The facility staff were warm, friendly, and very welcoming. The therapists assured my family that I would be cared for and receive everything necessary to facilitate my healing. My stay at Glens Falls Center was a remarkable success. I went from 0 to 100% functionality in just a few weeks. The daily grind, which was so challenging to me before, is now painless and done with ease. I strongly recommend this facility.
Dorthea
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was extremely weak when I was first admitted into Glens Falls Center. Even simple activities like getting dressed were very difficult. All of the rehab staff were caring, professional, and had my best interest in mind. Laura from therapy and Tammy from housekeeping were outstanding as well. Everyone worked together and wanted to see me succeed! I’m stronger now and I cannot say anything but positive things about Glens Falls Center!
Edward Binder
Resident at Glens Falls CenterI was extremely weak and really out of it. I didn’t know which end was up. It turns out my condition was caused by bleeding in my intestinal track. My energy and strength were literally draining away. I got it back at Glens Falls Center. Even though I was a confused at first, the therapists were very patient and understanding. They were also friendly and knowledgeable. The result: I got my strength back. Thanks to the Glens Falls Center team, I’m back home and independent again.
Eileen Clute
Resident at Glens Falls CenterI took a bad fall and hit my head. I was in terrible condition—I couldn’t walk, bathe or dress on my own. The good news? I was admitted to Glens Falls Center for my rehab. The therapists are great. Not only did they help get my strength back, they made it fun! The amazing thing is, after just two weeks I was ready to go home—able to walk and even climb stairs on my own. I’m excited about being back home, but you know what: I’m sad about leaving my new friends at Glens Falls Center.
Eleanor
Former Patient At Glens Falls CenterI underwent surgery at Glens Falls Hospital due to a fall that resulted in a fractured femur. I couldn’t walk. I was transferred to Glens Falls Center for rehab. The staff is the best! They made it possible to become a new person, both mentally and physically. My Physical Therapists, Nate and Dave, encouraged me to try hard, and I did. Initially I didn’t think I could do it, but they knew I could and encouraged me to push through and take one step at a time. Now, I can walk again. My Occupational Therapist, Kerry, taught me how to maneuver around the kitchen with my walker and how to do things differently so I can take care of myself safely. Group Therapy with Leslie (COTA) was great; we laughed and joked around while we were exercising, which made it fun! Anna, my Speech Therapist, worked with me to help improve my memory, function and problem-solving skills to improve my safety awareness at home. The nurses and aides were just wonderful. They did a great job taking care of me! The food was very good. I definitely recommend Glens Falls Center Rehab, the staff is the best, I am able to walk again and able to live in my home more confidently and safely. Thank You, Glens Falls Center!
Eleanor Duell
Resident at Glens Falls CenterI was having a hard time at home, bedridden for over a month by illness. When I tried to get back on my feet, my body just wouldn’t cooperate. After several falls, which caused some bad bruising, my doctor said I should get into a rehab facility. He recommended Glens Falls Center. The Center was just what the doctor ordered! Everyone was lovely, but the therapists were particularly helpful. They created a plan specifically for me, and it wasn’t long before I felt my legs and arms—my entire body—getting stronger. There is much more to the rehab than exercise. The food and activities are both part of the program. But it’s also the way you’re treated. Everyone at Glens Falls Center encouraged me. They really do care about me. And I care about them!
Gail Faubel
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was very sick with severe headaches, chest pain and difficulty breathing. The problem was high blood pressure combined with problems with my heart. The solution was Glens Falls Center. First of all, I was impressed by how nice, polite and well-mannered the whole staff is. But I was even more impressed by how great the rehab is. They implemented a comprehensive rehab plan—exercise combined with diet that made me healthier and stronger. The entire team at Glens Falls Center deserves all the credit for my successful rehab. They worked wonders with me, literally changing my life and my lifestyle.
Gloria Ramsey
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was weak and in terrible pain. An infection had spread through my entire body, and I could barely function. Once released from the hospital, I was in no condition to go home. I was admitted to Glens Falls Center for my rehab. The entire Glens Falls Center team contributed to my recovery—the nurses, therapists, dietitian, everyone. There was a physiatrist—a doctor specializing in rehab—and he did great things for me. In just one week, I was back home. It was a wonderful feeling—thanks to the Glens Falls Center team!
Jane Flagg
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterMy knee-replacement surgery made previously effortless tasks into challenging endeavors. I needed help getting dressed, bathing, and even walking a few dozen yards. I knew that. if I stayed like this, my condition would only get worse. But then, everything changed when I was admitted to Glens Falls Center for Rehab. My therapy team did more than I could ever ask for! They worked hard and always did their best. In just a few short weeks, I was back to independent mobility and activity. I feel so much gratitude for the outstanding staff at Glens Falls Center. This is a great place for rehab and I truly had a great time during my stay.
Jeanine Winn
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was really anxious and depressed—so much so, it affected me physically. I couldn’t sleep. I lost my appetite. I was so tired. I was experiencing aches and pains all over my body and couldn’t get around. My doctor said I needed to go to a rehab facility, and getting admitted to Glens Falls Center proved to be just what the doctor ordered. They are all so nice there, and they addressed all my issues—physical and emotional. The activities and accommodations at Glens Falls Center are great, and both contributed to my successful rehab. I spent less than a month at Glens Falls Center, but it was one of the most productive months in my life. I’m much stronger now, I sleep better and I can get around on my own. I recommend the facility to friends, family—anyone—in need of rehab!
Josephine Wrobel
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was very weak and in bad shape. There was a problem with my muscles, and to make matters worse I have an abnormal heart rhythm. I felt like I was getting weaker by the day—unable to walk more than a few steps without help. I’m so grateful to the team at Glens Falls Center. Everybody there was very supportive and gave me encouragement every day. The rehab staff and the therapy program they designed for me were excellent. And if I had any questions, they were always there to give me answers I spent less than two months at Glens Falls Center and I am much stronger. Joyce Mulleedy
Former Patient At Glens Falls CenterI struggled with heart failure combined with a bad infection in my blood— what my doctor called sepsis. I was so week, I couldn’t even stand. When I was admitted to Glens Falls Center, my legs were completely useless. As soon as I arrived, I knew I was in good hands. Everyone was so welcoming. The entire rehab staff, the nurses and aides, as well the dietary team, are so caring. And they knew what they were doing! In just a little over a month, I was standing on my own, walking and able to take care of myself. I’m back home now and extremely happy—thanks to the Glens Falls Center team!
Kathleen Morse
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI fell and broke my hip. I was completely immobilized—needing help to get out of bed, bathe, get dressed, just about everything. The good news: I was admitted to Glens Falls Center for my rehab and recovery. The therapy department created a program designed specifically for me and my condition. Slowly but surely, step by step (literally) they restored my strength. After one month I came back home. I can walk, dress, cook—live—on my own again! I love the Glens Falls Center team and everything they did for me.
Kenneth Swart
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI had been in the hospital for surgery on my ankle, and it turned out to be much more of an ordeal than I had thought I would be. By the time I was discharged and transferred to Glens Falls Center to rehab, I was so weak I could hardly get out of bed. The staff was very welcoming, and the therapists immediately designed a program to rebuild my strength from the ground up. It was a comprehensive plan, including therapy, medical care, diet and recreation. And it worked great! A month after I was admitted, I was back on my feet and on my way home. Thanks to the team at Glens Falls Center, I have muscles now where I never had them before!
Ladette Cross
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI had taken a series of bad falls and to make matters worse, I had suffered wounds on my right hand and knee. The wounds had begun to swell—my doctor said I had cellulitis. Instead of sending me to a hospital—a place I didn't want to go—the doctor called the Centers Community Liaison, who had me admitted to Glens Falls Center directly from home. The team there was very sympathetic to my situation—and very knowledgeable. First, they treated my wounds, cleaning the area, applying a cool compress, and covering it. What a wonderful bedside manner! While my wounds were healing I worked with the therapy team and they focused on strengthening my legs, standing balance and walking. The wounds are healed, and I’m walking without fear of falling. I’m happy to be independent and back home again, even if I do miss the care and compassion of the Glens Falls Center team.
Laura Cameron
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI broke my hip, which totally immobilized me. The pain was terrible. I was beside myself. The Glens Falls Center team came to the rescue. They knew exactly how to reduce the pain, and the therapists designed a rehab plan specific to my needs. Within weeks Iwas feeling stronger and more confident. The pain is gone now, and I’m back home. I can get around on my own, which is a blessing. Thanks to the Glens Falls Center team, I have my life back!
Lois Udall
I can’t really explain it: I was just very weak. I don’t know the cause, but I couldn’t stand up without help. It was very frustrating. The cause was a mystery. The cure was not: Glens Falls Center. The therapy was extraordinary. The therapists knew exactly what exercises I needed to do to get stronger. They made a world of difference in just two short weeks. Not only did they give me my legs back, they made me independent again. Thank you, Glens Falls Center!
Louise Helpern
I was dizzy and tired all the time. I had a hard time breathing. When I fainted, my husband called an ambulance. It turned out my heart was not pumping enough oxygen. The hospital stabilized me and recommended Glens Falls Center for my rehab. It was a great choice. The team there is so friendly, and the rehab is excellent. They gave me encouragement and increased my strength. It took some time and some hard work, but after three months, I was back on my feet and back home! Thank you Glens Falls Center!
Margo Eichorst
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a bad fall and broke my hip. I had surgery at the hospital to repair it, but I couldn’t put any weight on it, meaning I was unable to walk or get around on my own. I went straight from the hospital to Glens Falls Center—and that was my first step in the journey to recovery. The therapists there are great. They were patient and professional with me, working at my pace. One month later and I’m back home. The Glens Falls Center team taught me how to walk again!
Mark Sullivan
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterPneumonia knocked me for a loop. It literally took my breath away. When I left the hospital, I could barely walk a few steps on my own. I didn’t know if I’d ever get better. But the team at Glens Falls Center knew better. They put together a program of exercises and activities designed specifically for me and within days, I was feeling the results. In a month and a half, I was fully functional again. All I can say to the Glens Falls Center team is: Keep up the good work. You’re doing great things!
Mary LaRock
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a fall and broke the bone in my elbow. I had never experienced such pain before. I was completely helpless… until I got to Glens Falls Center. The medical and therapy teams created a rehab program designed specifically to meet my needs. Most remarkable was the work the physiatrist did. I had no idea what that is—it’s a doctor whose specialty is physical rehabilitation and pain management. And he did his job! The pain subsided and I gradually regained the use of my arm. In just two weeks, I was ready to go home. Great work Glens Falls Center team!
Pamela Smith
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI couldn’t breathe. Respiratory failure is when the lungs can’t get enough oxygen into the blood. Such was my condition: laboring breath after laboring breath. I needed hospital machines to keep my lungs working. To think I ever took breathing for granted... Coming to Glens Falls Center was a breath of fresh air. The facility staff were outstanding; they made sure I was comfortable and in good care. My therapists, Lesley and Dave, got me back on my feet, taking it one breath at a time. Glens Falls Center was like a second home. During my month at the facility, I learned how to breathe again. When I was first admitted, my baseline abilities were mid-range, but now I am hitting the top of the charts. Thank you Glens Falls Center for all your hard work and I would strongly recommend this facility.
Patricia Sullivan
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a bad fall and broke my arm. I was in a lot of pain—the kind of pain that makes you dizzy. I couldn’t cook, I could barely walk, I couldn’t even put on a pair of socks. I needed help. Glens Falls Center gave me all the help I needed. The team was always friendly and encouraging: They kept my spirits up. They healed me in so many different ways. It took two months of hard work, but it was worth it. Thanks to the Glens Falls Center team, I’m much stronger now. I can cook, I can walk, and I can put on my own socks!
Patricia Winchell
Glens Falls Center"I have lung cancer, and last summer I was in considerable pain and very weak. I could barely walk across the room. I had coughing fits and trouble swallowing. I wondered if I would ever get better. But I have gotten much better, thanks to the team at Glens Falls Center. The physical therapists gave me exercises that gradually strengthened my muscles, and the speech therapist helped me with my swallowing—and even made it easier for me to talk. They are good people at Glens Falls Center. I mean that they are good at their jobs and that they have good hearts. They helped alleviate my pain, and I have much more endurance—I can even walk up stairs. They met the challenge, and I’m back home now!"
Sheila Morocco
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI took a bad fall and broke my hip. I consider myself an independent, self-reliant woman, but I was totally helpless. That changed when I was admitted to Glens Falls Center. The entire staff welcomed me, and within a few days they had a plan in place to get me moving. The therapy team was great. It took time—four months in all—and plenty of hard work, but the Glens Falls Center team got me back on my feet and back home. Thanks to them, I’ve got my life and my independence back!
Stephen LaPierre
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterThe arthritis in my knee got steadily worse to the point where I had to have it surgically replaced. When I left the hospital, I couldn’t even walk on my own. I needed help with just about everything. Help came when I entered Glens Falls Center. The entire team there was behind me 100%. The physical and occupational therapists taught me how to walk again. I was stronger than ever. I was back home in less than three weeks. I have one word for the Glens Falls Center team: fantastic!
Thomas Branwell
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterIn 2021, I nearly lost my life. An infection entered my bloodstream and my body responded by throwing me into sepsis. Even though I received life-saving treatment right away, the resulting damage was extensive. I couldn’t walk, I couldn’t bathe, and I couldn’t even use the restroom by myself. Then I was admitted to Glens Falls Center for Rehab and I regained my dignity. The therapy team was committed to my success and re-educated my injured muscles. After a little more than a month, I doubled my strength, doubled my walking distance – I doubled everything! I would recommend Glens Falls Center to anyone who was like me – damaged and dependent. Now, I am healed and I can’t give enough thanks to their excellent staff and their exceptional team.
Zachery Siegel
Former Patient at Glens Falls CenterI was in a softball game with some friends and I guess I ran a little too fast to first base. I tore my left hamstring. The pain was excruciating, and I could barely move. My doctor said go to Glens Falls Center. They’ll take care of you, he said. Wow, was he on the money! The Glens Falls Center team dealt with the injury and they dealt with the pain. And they did it all with a smile: They have a great attitude, and believe me, it helps with the healing. In just ten days I was back on my feet—and back home. I know two things: 1. If I need rehab, go to Glens Falls Center. 2. If I’m running to first base, don’t go too fast!
